the HTML code & the Navigation Panels

The HTML code

The navigation panel is a small piece of HTML code.
On registration, a unique code is generated for the specific website, with the siteID embedded in the code. The owner / webmaster of the joining website simply has to insert the code where it is meant to be displayed.

The Navpanel

The navigation panel is what links the member websites with one another.

These are the default navigation panel for "Equator".
There are two different codes:

CODE 1 is for LIGHT backgrounds CODE 2 is for DARK backgrounds

You can customize it further to fit/blend on your site. If you wish me to do it for you, just drop me a note.

The command buttons

The commands "Home", "Prev", "List" and "Next" are the minimum by default.

The Ringlink program that powers "Equator" also supports the following, as shown on the navpanel at the bottom.

Previous Site || Random Site || Next Site
Previous 5 Sites || List All Sites || Next 5 Sites
Ring Homepage || Ring Statistics || Search Ring ||

The HTML code for the panel can be customised to blend with your site theme.

This is an example of a navigation panel with a different colour theme.

This is a working navigation panel

.

I have written it in a way to be easily customisable.
The permitted changes are: overall size; size of individual rows; fonts' face, style, size and colour; and even add a picture file. But traditionally, no advertisements on the panel are allowed.

To help with changing the codes of the font colours, you may find this Color Palette helpful. If you are unable to customise it, I will try to do it for you, to blend it with your style/theme. Although, being a non IT individual, I am unable to do any fancy work.

For the ring to work, the panel has to be easily accessable. It does not have to be splashed on the frontpage, but should be displayed clearly and preferably linked to the frontpage or the most popular page. The purpose of the 'ring' is lost if even a single panel is obscured.

Please do not hide the panel.
We are a webring, and not a links directory, if you do not wish to display the panel, then please do not join the ring.
